Chris Alcala is the Hollywood Self Made Training Facility owner and we dive into an amazing conversation. Chris grew up in Los Angeles, his Dad, an immigrant from Mexico and His mother from Cuba. He quickly learned that he was built with the Leadership DNA inside of him and refused to follow in negative footsteps. Chris served his country through the National Guard and there is where he learned discipline and structure. He understood that there was more in life and that he had the potential to be all that he wanted to be. Chris is no stranger to dealing with adversity and one of the toughest battles he would face is when he was diagnosed with Leukemia. Even when he was in the eye of this storm he would say to himself, "things could be worse." His now wife stuck by his side and he battled through this opposition. By God's grace he is here with us to share this amazing story.
In 2020 right before the world as we knew it shut down, Chris and his wife embarked on the journey to open up a SELF MADE TRAINING FACILITY without knowing they would have to do it through COVID. But Chris knew that it was a make or break situation and just like everything else, it either happens to us or it happens for us! He chose the latter and chose to use it as his fuel. They now own a successful SMTF in Hollywood that is thriving and serves to see people's lives changed. Not just physically but emotionally and mentally. This interview will definitely inspire you in so many levels and if you are an entrepreneur or business owner, then this is for you!

Healed of Cancer | Rubin Valverde’s story of pain, PTSD, healing and his journey with God & Fitness

Rubin Valverde was born in Colorado but raised here in Colton, CA. A small town in Southern California with some hardcore roots. Graduated from Colton High School and went into the US Military as he felt that was the best option for his at that time. There he picked up both good and bad habits and would quickly realize that besides his biological father, there was something missing. Rubin considered himself an atheist but after the military and struggling with PTSD he had a true genuine encounter with Christ that changed his life! Months after he was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer and meningitis, Rubin's faith was quickly tested as he battled this for months to come. He shares his real, raw thoughts throughout this process but how deep inside he knew God was with him and God had a plan! MDs could not explain but after some time his cancer numbers began to vanish and thats when he knew without a doubt that God's miracle power was healing him.
Today Rubin is married to his beautiful wife Kim and resides in San Bernardino, CA where he continues his journey in Christ and is an established Fitness Trainer. He has established a fitness clothing brand called HUMBLE BEAST FITNESS COMPANY whose purpose is to spread a movement to be Humble in who we are and a BEAST in what we do.
